We are having new colleagues not only for logistics tasks but also for our administration. Read Ronja's article about how she enjoyed her summer work and internship in Transval.
Hi, I am Ronja, a 22-year-old girl from Espoo. I was a summer intern in the Marketing and Communications team at Transval last summer. I live in the Netherlands and I'm a second-year International Business student at Maastricht University. Despite my international studies, it is important for me to return to Finland to my family and friends every summer. This year I was able to get my first internship, for which I am very grateful. I am grateful that, despite my limited skills, the people of Transval saw potential in me and gave me a chance.
My summer at Transval was really versatile. I primarily worked in the marketing and communications team, but I have also had the opportunity to observe and learn about many other activities across the Posti Group, such as the social media customer service, social media team and corporate communications. I was able to take responsibility for digital marketing and coordinate a wide range of internal and external campaigns. In addition, I was able to oversee day-to-day operations of recruitment department, conduct interviews and write articles, participate in the website redesign and translation, trade fair strategy, and coordinate an internal photo day. As I said, my summer has been a varied one.
In addition to the different tasks and information systems I learned, I also learned a lot about the culture and practices of the organization. I have been able to work on my own and take on more responsibility than I had dared to imagine at the beginning of the summer. I have also worked a lot in groups with new people, which has developed my teamwork, communication skills and much more. I have also had the chance to work with colleagues of all ages. All the above has been a learning experience that I feel will benefit me in the future.
I, like many students my age, diligently apply for summer internships. First of all, I would like to thank Transval for giving me the opportunity to learn and become part of the working world. Secondly, I would like to encourage all companies to take risks with innovative and hard-working young people. We might surprise you positively with our perseverance and willingness to learn!
